Escape Room - Experience Host

Bradford, West Yorkshire

  • We are hiring part-time (minimum 15 hours) and casual Experience Hosts. There will be opportunities to progress into a full-time position

  • Multiple positions available

 

Time Trapped is an Escape Room company based in the centre of Bradford, and we are looking to grow our team of enthusiastic, fun and creative individuals to facilitate our growth in the experiential entertainment sector.

 

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a live-action, team-based game where players discover clues, solve puzzles and accomplish tasks in order to escape a themed room within 60 minutes. It is an exciting and immersive experience that has become one of the world’s most popular entertainment attractions.

What is an Experience Host?

An Experience Host’s primary responsibility is ensuring every customer has an unforgettable experience. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing an engaging brief to immerse the players in the storyline;

  • Monitoring the escape room via CCTV and providing timely clues when groups require help;

  • Taking group photos following a successful escape;

  • Selling merchandise and cash handling;

  • Staging and resetting the escape rooms;

  • Managing the online booking system, answering phone calls and responding to online enquiries;

  • Updating social media pages;

  • Additional tailored responsibilities depending on your skillset

 

Essential qualities

  • Confidence – Experience Hosts must display natural charisma and enthusiasm to set the tone for a fun-filled, action-packed experience

  • Flexibility – in terms of work hours. We often get bookings at short notice so the role is suited to those who can pick up last-minute shifts. Our busiest times include weekends and evenings so you will be required to be available during peak times

  • Organised and punctual – we have set booking times that must be adhered to, to ensure smooth operation of the business

  • Interest in puzzles – though it’s not necessary to have played an escape room before, a natural interest in puzzles/logic games is fundamental

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written. You will be briefing large groups of players on your own, so you must be able to speak confidently and clearly. You will also be typing clues so excellent grammar and attention to detail is important

  • Willingness to learn new skills – we want to grow a team that is hungry, motivated and eager to challenge themselves

  • Ability to work independently – there will be times where you will be required to work alone

  • Personable, likeable and well-presented

 

Preferred qualities

Customer-facing experience preferred, though not essential – full training will be provided
